Foco Flava Vol 8 Jackson Xia Workshop
Get ready for the third workshop of Foco Flava Week! Jackson Xia is bringing the fun and energy of Locking to Fort Collins on Thursday, September 12th at CSU Lory Student Center, Room #386—and the best part? It’s completely FREE!
We’re partnering with the CSU Hip-Hop Dance Club to host this special class, where Jackson will guide you through the playful and expressive world of Locking—a dance style created by Don Campbell in Los Angeles. Locking is actually the first street dance ever created, born from a mistake that evolved into a vibrant and unique style. It’s all about quick, distinct arm movements combined with more relaxed, groovy lower body moves.This workshop is open to everyone, regardless of your previous dance experience. Jackson’s class is a playful space where all you need is an open mind, a willingness to connect with others, and the freedom to get a little silly!

Waacking is a style of dance that originated from the underground clubs of the 1970s, blending expressive arm movements, groovy footwork, and powerful poses. Gina, a professional dancer, choreographer, and studio director at EVQ Dance, will guide you through the history and fundamentals of this vibrant style, from its roots in punking to the evolution into waacking.
Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just curious, this class is open to all levels! We’ll be moving and grooving, with the ultimate goal of dancing freely and letting loose.
